Dear All,
We have got another Birthday onboard today!!!! and it's a big one... Stan is 50....., man we have spoilt him rotten too on his Birthday!!!
Not only did he get to stay up all night to navigate us through the Georges Banks while we were going 13 knots upwind in 25 knots of wind leaping off some pretty nice waves but then at 6 am he got to serve himself some beautiful Chicken Stew for breakfast (that is supposed to be eaten with Mashed Freeze dried potatoes, but which we have run out of...) and the day has only just begun!!! The forecasters say he is in for a real treat as by this afternoon it could be 40 knots with torrential rain.... I bet, by now, you think I am joking.... not the case.. However, Stan says he is loving it and we certainly love having him as part of the team.
Anyway, I am sure you will join me in wishing Stan a very Happy Birthday, in what is going to be a very exciting year..It's Stan's round when we hit the dock - he doesn't mind the Kiwi tradition of having to buy drinks on your Birthday, just as long as you want to drink Single Malt Whiskey..straight...
